I love this style of Birki's. This is my 4th pair, so I was very surprised at how scuffed they got after just a couple wearings. All along the big toe/bunion area there are deep whitish scuffs. My other Marias do not have this problem at all. They are super comfortable, as are all my Birkenstocks, but they just don't look as good because of the light-colored scuffs on the dark material.

My Mama is from Germany, so I got started wearing Birkenstocks while over there for a visit with relatives. Boy, was I glad to find out I could buy them here, too!! I have worn Birks for the past few years now, and am well-known for my shoes (I live in a rural area, and not too many shoe stores, NO Birkenstock stores!) I wear my sandles and Super Birkis in the winter with socks (you should see my collection!)I even save my red Super Birkis for Christmas (everybody calls them my elf shoes) They can laugh, but my feet, legs and back never hurt!! I am a physical therapist and on my feet all day long, so I can think of no better advice to give to my patients with foot, leg, and back trouble than to follow my lead and WEAR BIRKENSTOCKS!! I am glad to see some of the newer styles that are a little more "dressy" Keep up the good work!
