My pain started several years ago in my left heel caused by a torn plantar fascia. The doctor said to buy an insert for my shoe and learn to live with it. It became so painful that getting out of bed in the morning was more like crawling than walking. Within the last 6 months, the podiatrist sold me a custom made orthotic for over $400 which was to be my answer. Instead I found myself in a Birkenstock store and for much less than $400 found relief for my pain. That was 2 months ago. Now I have 2 pair and I am shopping for the 3rd pair. All of my other shoes (2 huge boxes full) were donated to charity a few weeks ago and I will probably never wear anything but Birkentstocks or the Birkenstock inserts. I am finally out of pain and can walk whenever and wherever I want to without pain. What a relief!
